Marlena Wolf is an entrepreneur, mother of two, and founder of Edible Gardens Inc.  An expert in horticulture with an emphasis on food crops, she has grown over 40 fruits, veggies, herbs and flowers on Kentucky farms. 

Looking for answers after suffering chronic nutrition issues, she walked away from Corporate America to work on an organic vegetable farm in Louisville, KY. This lifestyle shift improved her health immensely. Eating organic vegetables that are grown in healthy soils decreases your risk for chronic disease substantially. 

In 2011 she founded Girl Next Door Farm in La Grange, KY where she provided produce to two farmers markets, local grocery stores, local restaurants, and had a CSA.

Proud moments: being featured in "The Woman Hobby Farmer" book by Karen Lanier, and in articles in the Courier Journal, and Manner & Lane Online Publication. Speaking on University panels for “Minorities in Agriculture” and “Women Veterans in Agriculture”.  Such an honor.

In 2019 Edible Gardens Inc was born to empower people to grow their own food successfully and aesthetically. This work has helped countless home gardeners in the Louisville area. 

Their pride and joy truly comes from their education and Turn Key Gardens. They love to design and build custom raised bed gardens for Louisville residents. These major garden renovations allow clients to enjoy bounty without sacrificing beauty. The consults and workshops are a way to offer continued support for home gardening success.

Learning the "seasonal rhythms" of a Kentucky vegetable garden allows growers to become more self-sufficient year round. Understanding plant families, the seasons, the soil, plant spacing, & timing are just some ways to insure an abundant harvest each month.
